Coach Jon Tang is a Montgomery County native and graduate of Winston Churchill High School, playing for Coach JJ with several other MVP coaches in the late 1900s. In college, he also competed at the club level for University of Maryland Baltimore County. This year, he will be coaching MVP 17 Black alongside Coach Jimmy after previously coaching MVP 16 Black in 2024-2025.
Coach Jon’s began coaching in 2021 with MVP at the U13s level, earning a CHRVA Regional Championship, as well as numerous other first place finishes – Rocky Mount ECPL, Atlantic City Invitational, York Boys Grand Prix, etc… over the years. Coach Jon is also the Head Coach at the Washington International School for both the Girls and Boys Varsity teams, where he guided the Boys team to a first place finish in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference.
