This season Coach Homer is one of the coaches for MVP 14/13s. It is rumored that Coach Homer trained with the Olympic team in the late 1900’s, where he cultivated his dark side persona. Coach Homer was a legendary beast opposite and believes that lefties are inherently superior in volleyball and in life. Coach Homer has played 9man… but the no pike rule for blocking made him far too dangerous on the court and, for insurance reasons, the NACIVT refuses to let him play anymore.
In 1996, Coach Homer began coaching players in the art of the dark side, first for the James Madison University club team, moving to juniors in 2013, and eventually to MVP in 2017. Numerous players and coaches have benefited from his expertise sucking the souls of opposing players and generally making MVP an amazing place to play and coach.
When not chirping on the sidelines at a tournament, you can find Coach Homer beating up on middle-aged MoCo volleyball “legends” at several local rec leagues. Coach Homer’s passion for humiliating opponents in a casual rec league is matched only by his dedication to developing the next generation of dark side MVP players.
