Questions About the Season

Our season begins with tryouts in early October and ends at AAU/USAV Junior Nationals, which are held in late June/early July.

Our top U15-U18 teams will attend 10-12 tournaments throughout the season.  Our U14 and below will target a minimum of 8 tournaments throughout the season.

The financial commitment to participate with MVP club teams will vary depending on which team level the player is placed based on tryout results.

Fixed costs during the season that are distributed evenly to all MVP participants include uniforms, gym rental fees, coach stipends and USAV registration and certification fees, equipment and administrative costs.

Tournament costs are added to specific teams based on participation, such as tournament entry fees, and coach travel expenditures.

Dues do not include athlete travel costs, hospitality or food.

MVP offers limited financial assistance to players in need based on available funds.  Parents and parents may contact the MVP Director for more information.

The tournament schedule is tentative pending registration and acceptance by the tournament operators.  MVP makes every attempt to register early to avoid being locked out of tournaments.

In the unusual circumstance that the team is not accepted to a tournament, the Head Coach will work with the players and the MVP Director to identify an alternative tournament to attend. MVP will not refund dues.

Tryout Related Questions

Yes, we encourage everyone to try out. For those players who do not make a team, MVP plans to hold clinics for beginners and intermediate players throughout the season.

As spaces on teams are limited and teams are selective, placement will be determined by a tryout that is held at the beginning of the season. Having some level of experience in volleyball will be helpful in making a team, so we encourage all tryout participants to attend clinics, camps, or play in rec leagues/open gyms prior to the club season to better equip themselves for the tryout.

Absolutely not! MVP supports a 12 and under team, with players who have started as young as 8 years old.
