We are very pleased to announce that MVP Alumni and current Wootton Boys Volleyball Coach, Tony Malinauskas, has joined the MVP coaching staff for the 2025-2026 season. Tony will be the head coach of MVP 16 Black next season and will be assisted by current MVP coach, Eli Umar (also an MVP and Wootton alumni).
ABOUT
Coach Tony has been playing volleyball since the ball was white and the only other team in the region was NVVA. Once a player for Wootton and MVP (some would say the greatest player in the history of either program), as a coach he has led Wootton’s JV Girls and Varsity Boys for ten or so years, caterwauling on the bench for the Girls Varsity the entire time. His club experience has been with MEVC as a 16s and 14s coach. He hopes one day to see Boys volleyball played at the Maryland State level, but he’ll settle for not being called “Paul” by strangers at volleyball events instead. Coach Tony has also led the Wootton Patriots Boys volleyball team to 2 MCPS Championships in the last 3 years!
