Coach Alex is the Assistant Coach for MVP 17 Black. He is an accomplished middle having competed as a middle for DC Dynasty alongside teammates Coaches Liam and Kevin in numerous USAV tournaments for two seasons.

During high school at Gilman in Baltimore City, Coach Alex was a standout baseball and volleyball player, serving as captain on both and earning All-Conference honors in volleyball his senior year, as well as the school’s Volleyball Award for outstanding effort in the sport. He lead Gilman to four conference championships, securing two titles. After highschool, Coach Alex played college baseball at Trinity College for five years, where he was a two-time All-Conference selection.  During this time, Coach Alex also managed to find time to play on Trinity’s men’s club volleyball team for a season.

Coach Alex started his coaching career four years ago back at his alma mater, Gilman, where he guided the team to a championship win in 2021, 2nd place finish in 2022, and a semi-final appearance in 2023. During his time at Gilman, Coach Alex also coached at Charm City Volleyball Academy leading the 17 Navy team to two USAV qualifier bid tournament wins during the 2022-2023 season.

Outside of sports, Alex works as a government contractor for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, specializing in healthcare data interchange standards and enforcement. Alex spends much of his time in the gym or on the court, traveling across the DMV for volleyball competitions and staying connected with the community he has built around the sport. Alex especially loves working with and playing alongside Coach Liam, for their relationship surpasses the definition of love in its corporeal form.
