Coach Rebecca Garrigues brings a wealth of playing experience and leadership to her coaching career, honed from years of competitive volleyball at both the high school and collegiate levels.
As a player, Coach Becca led Rancho Cucamonga High School to a league title and CIF quarterfinals finish her senior year. Individually, she was named the Baseline League’s Most Valuable Player and Inland Valley Player of the Year. She also helped her club teams to a bronze medal finish in the National Division at the 2009 Junior National Championships and a 2010 silver medal finish in the Open Division. In college, Coach Becca was a D1 setter at UMBC. She was also recognized on the America East Honor Roll for her academic achievements in her sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Coach Becca’s coaching career began her senior year of college with Master’s Volleyball Academy in 2013. When she returned home after undergrad, she spent one year as a part-time Assistant Coach at Cal Baptist University before realizing her passion was at the juniors level. Coach Becca spent six years coaching club volleyball with Forza 1 in Southern California and high school at her alma mater before returning to Maryland in 2019. She spent the last three seasons as the Boys’ Varsity coach at Richard Montgomery High School but is looking forward to starting with MVP this season!
Outside of volleyball, Coach Becca is a history teacher at Richard Montgomery High School where she helped to pilot a class on APIDA studies, the first of its kind in Montgomery County. She lives in Baltimore with her husband, Kevin.
