Coach Jon Tang is a Montgomery County native and graduate of Winston Churchill High School, playing for Coach JJ with several other MVP coaches in the late 1900s. In college, he also competed at the club level for University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Coach Jon’s began coaching in 2021 with MVP at the U13s level, earning a CHRVA Regional Championship, as well as numerous other first place finishes – Rocky Mount ECPL, Atlantic City Invitational, York Boys Grand Prix, … over the years. He has also contributed to the 17 Black and 18 Black teams as an assistant coach during his time with MVP. Coach Jon is also the Head Coach at the Washington International School for both the Girls and Boys Varsity teams, where he guided the Boys team to a first place finish in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference.
To date, Coach Jon has managed to resist the sweet sirens song of Montgomery County, choosing instead to live in Fairfax County with his family, including three of the world’s most adorable children.
