Coach Ou Huang

Coach Ou Huang has been coaching with MVP since 2016 and throughout that time has coached teams at every age group.  Coach Ou led the MVP 14U team to the 2021 Boys East Coast Championship title in the 14s Open Gold Division and helped her teams qualify for the USAV Boys Junior Nationals Championships Open Division in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Coach Ou will be the head coach of MVP 18 Black for the 2024-2025 season.

A highly accomplished player, Coach Ou began her volleyball journey at the age of 12, receiving professional training at the prestigious Beijing ShiChaHai Sports School in China. Her time there provided her with solid volleyball fundamentals and prepared her for a competitive playing career.

In high school, Coach Ou was a member of the Beijing Youth Women’s Volleyball Team, the Chinese National Hope Team, and the Chinese National Youth Training Team. She represented the Beijing Youth Volleyball Team in two international visits to Japan.

Coach Ou played Division I volleyball for the University of Dayton from 1996 to 1998, serving as the starting middle for three years. She helped lead the Flyers to the 1998 Atlantic 10 Championship title and earned numerous accolades, including:

  • 1996 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year
  • 1996 Iowa State Cyclone Invitational All-Tournament Team
  • 1996 Flyer First Serve Invitational All-Tournament Team
  • Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team (1996–1998)
  • Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team (1996–1998)
  • Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference 1997


Outside of volleyball, Coach Ou is a full-time engineer and a proud mother of two boys. She has been happily married for over 15 years and maintains strong friendships with fellow MVP coaches.
